Hello friends! Hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was filled with running and relaxing, which sounds like a perfect weekend to me.
It all started with the opening weekend fun run at True Runner Saturday morning. My best runner friend Steph tagged along for the 3 mile run and shop opening. I was immediately impressed with True Runner. They carry all sorts of brands – Brooks, Saucony, Mizuno, and Nike. Their sock selection is INCREDIBLE! They carry a ton of fuel, foam rollers, and other random equipment that every runner needs. They also had the most selection of Sweaty Bands headbands that I’ve ever seen in a store.
The run was a fun, 3 mile loop. During the run, Steph and I met the True Runner crew and chatted about marathons and running. One great thing about True Runner is their encouragement of community among those who join the fun runs. They have lockers where you can lock up your belongings, a bathroom, towels, and water for post-runs. They’re going to start doing Wednesday night runs and Saturday morning runs. Depending on who shows up, the distances will change, but they want to add a 7 mile Saturday run which will be perfect for the winter when motivating myself to run a “longish” weekend run alone is hard.
After heading home, I spent the rest of Saturday cleaning and taking care of little Koji while Bernie was at the last BC tailgate of the year. Sad I had to miss it. I ended up falling asleep at 9 pm. Grandma status over here.
Sunday morning I got to sleep in until 8:00 (thanks to Bernie taking over Koji duty) which was GLORIOUS. We had such a lazy morning on the house, it was really nice. Koji was very sleepy on Sunday and he couldn’t get enough snuggle time. I can’t get enough snuggle time with my little man.
